Getting PaperCut n crafty with our paper recycling

Once upon a time, a recycling bin sat in the corner, gorging itself on unwanted printouts. After the installation of PaperCut MF, it was used sparingly. A very good thing.

I thought I’d give these scraps a second chance at life in the following daggy but practical uses for reusing paper in the office.

Does PaperCut really have a positive effect on the environment?

A support ticket came through today. Nothing unusual about that – we often hear from customers looking to solve their unique problems. This one was different, though. It got me thinking about PaperCut’s impact on the environment.

I wanted to explain to him some of what we, as a company, mean when we talk about the environment. I thought I’d share my reply.

Creating a sustainable and greener workplace

PaperCut cares about the environment. You’ve probably figured it out with all the trees dotted around the website. The thing is, it’s more than just a gimmick or something we ‘should’ do. We really do care.

If you’re keen to change the way things are done in your office, we’ve put together a handy wee guide.

One sheet at a time: your must-see infographic

Two things we love at PaperCut: 1) helping you print; and 2) helping you protect the environment.

They might seem at odds, but we feel the important bit’s in between ‘print’ and ‘software’ – it’s the ‘management’ of printing through tech and awareness that matters.

And we’ve created an insights-packed infographic to drive that home. Check it out!

Recently, a bunch of those PaperCutters jumped in front of a camera to share their views on sustainability and how PaperCut software helps the environment.

Here’s what happened.

Composting and PaperCut: the perfect match

If I think about what really drew me to PaperCut, it’d have to be our software’s awesome potential to reduce waste globally.

That’s why I started up composting, right here in Portland!

Transforming Earth Day into Earth Every Day

Ah, Earth Day. The one day of the year people across the globe are guaranteed to be more motivated to recycle their plastic water bottle or pick up neighborhood trash.

And why wouldn’t they? Every day, we make a lasting impact on our environment. Unfortunately, it’s not always a positive impact.

So how can businesses have a positive, permanent impact?

Saving the environment a workplace at a time

With a name like PaperCut, it’s reasonably obvious where we stand on conserving the environment. From recycled timber in our offices to the development of an environmental guild to promote sustainable business practices, we’re keen on looking after our planet.

To keep us focused, we invite speakers into our offices to share the latest environmental news.

Save paper, save the environment

Climate change and pollution are major issues that concern all countries across the globe. It’s imperative that more environmentally-conscious practices are incorporated into everyday routines.

The urgency to continuously act on current environmental problems has never been more emphasized. One such example that many people can relate to is saving paper.

Ten tips to save paper

While using our print management system is an obvious paper saving tool, here are some other handy ideas to reduce your impact on the environment and save paper.

Having an (environmental) impact!

We all spend a lot of time talking about environmental issues here in the office. I suppose partly because global warming is the “topic of the month” (really century!), and partly because we work on software designed initially with an environmental objective – that is cutting down on paper!
